Activities:

  • Saturday, September 6, 2008 (Safety Seminar) 10am "Take-off and Landings" "Who's in Control Anyway" Sponsored by the FAASTeam and Hosted by Moyer Aviation. A good topic since Braden Airpark is a short field!
    • The importance of maintaining control of the aircraft at all times during Takeoff, Approach and Landing.

Don't let your next takeoff or landing become a statistic on someone's chart! Refresh your skills at this WINGs Safety event where proper techniques concerning aircraft control during the most critical phases of flight, Takeoff, Approach and Landing will be discussed. We can all become safer pilots through continuing education. Don't miss it!

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s)

Statistics show that 16% of General Aviation accidents happen during Takeoff, and 40% of GoA accidents happen during Landing. A good landing is a result of a stabilized approach and continued control of the aircraft during the landing roll out. The FAASTeam will be presenting a interactive presentation including power point and video clips from the University of North Dakota  The video clips will include "Rudder Control", "Stabilized Approaches", and "Slow Flight".

Bill VanArtsdalen, FAA Safety Team Program Manager, and Vern Moyer, FAASTeam Representative will present this interesting and informative presentation and be available to answer any questions you may have concerning the New WINGs Program.

A special thanks to Moyer Aviation and EAA Chapter 70 for sponsoring this exciting event.  FMB-G-1-09
